Smart home systems on Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island is three small cities on one barrier island: Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach. A lot of the houses are second homes or rentals, which changes what a system has to do. It has to be run and checked from somewhere else.

That usually means a network that can be diagnosed remotely, cameras that record on the property rather than to a subscription, and lighting and shade schedules that keep an empty house looking lived in. On the gulf side, shades that cut the afternoon glare without taking the water away are normally the first conversation.

Many newer island houses are raised above the flood line, which puts the equipment closet and the cable runs in unusual places. We plan those on the drawings, before the walls close.
