About us

We build homes around the Gulf Coast hour.

Sarasota marina

LUMA is a residential technology studio based in Sarasota, Florida. We integrate lighting, shading, security, audio, and networking into homes that feel effortless, and we stay engaged long after turnover, because that is when most integrators disappear.

Six principles we do not bend on, from the first walk-through to the last service call.

Open over proprietary

Lutron, Ubiquiti, Somfy, Sonos. Professional platforms with documented APIs. No dealer lock: your home stays yours if you ever leave us.

Network first

Every project begins with the network. Wired backbone, segmented Wi-Fi, on-prem control. Everything else fails without it.

Pricing in lines

Every device, every labor hour. No bundled mysteries, no surprise change orders.

Design with architects

We show up early in the build, not after drywall. Integration happens in plans, not in patches.

Stay after turnover

Twelve months of service bundled. Quarterly check-ins. Quiet system updates.

Respect the hour

Technology should disappear into the day. The best system is the one you stop noticing.

What we believe

The best smart home is the one you stop noticing.

The windows are already where they should be. The music is already at dinner volume. The sun is still doing the work.

Four phases, one studio.

How a project runs, from the first visit to the years after.

Working on a new build?

We work alongside interior designers, architects, and custom builders: marked-up plans, a rough-in package for the electrician, and one proposal your client can read.

Frequently asked questions

What does LUMA Smart Home do?

We design, install and look after lighting control, motorized shades, audio and video, home theaters, security cameras and networks in private homes.

Where do you work?

Sarasota and Manatee Counties: Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Siesta Key, Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island and Palmetto.

When should we bring you in?

As early as the plans. We would rather mark up drawings than patch finished walls, so the wiring goes in at rough-in, not after drywall.

Who owns the system when it is done?

You do. We build on open, documented platforms, so there is no dealer lock and the house stays yours if you ever change installers.

What happens after the install?

Service is part of the job: remote tuning, measured updates, and a technician who already knows the house. LUMA Care plans are on the Customer Support page.
